for Thursday, May 19, 2011

It rained that day,
and by the evening the light
shone wan and gray.  But the hosta
glowed chartreuse and blue green.
Each leaf grew clean, each smooth, and
studded with pearls of water,
gifts of the storm.

  1. Beautiful. I have three hostas out front where they receive direct sunlight all day long. I didn't know. Then I read one day that hostas shouldn't be in direct sunlight, so I went out to transplant and they were all blooming.

Hi Shethra. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  2. Thanks to you, too!
Some hostas do fine in sun, as long as they get enough water and the sun isn't so hot it burns them. Yours must be in a happy place!
I stop by, but do not always say anything. His was funny, though.
